State Health Agency, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday bagged the “best performing” title in gender equality, enrollment under PMJAY Ayushman Bharat, highest Ayushman card creation and full utilization of allocated funds.The award was presented by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh L Mandaviya, to Secretary Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar and Chief Executive Officer SHA, Sanjiv M Gadkar during Arogya Manthan 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi.All the States and Union Territories participated in the Manthan.At the impressive function “Arogya Manthan”, which was organised to celebrate completion of five years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and two years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, the State Health Agencies were asked to showcase the best practices adopted in their respective states.Bhupinder Kumar representing J&K State Health Agency showcased the best practices adopted in successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the UT.J&K SHA received the award in all the four segments including gender equity in service delivery, above 90% families with at least one Ayushman card, prompt Anti-Fraud Action, full utilization of allocated funds and highest Ayushman card creation.
Gram Sabhas was organised for the distribution of PVC Ayushman cards in all blocks of jammu and Kashmir.

The two-day North Regional Review Meeting of Ayushman Sangam organized in Srinagar. The meeting aimed to assess the progress and performance of the Ayushman Sangam program in the northern region of India.
Representatives from different states, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders attended the meeting to discuss challenges, successes, and future strategies for the implementation of the program. The Ayushman Sangam program aims to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to people across India, especially those belonging to low-income households.During the meeting, participants shared their experiences and best practices to ensure effective delivery of healthcare services under the program. They discussed ways to strengthen the infrastructure, improve coordination between different stakeholders, and address any bottlenecks in the implementation process of important topics such as the identification and inclusion of beneficiaries, cashless treatment procedures, quality control measures, and digitization of health records were also discussed. This meeting provided an opportunity for participants to network, exchange ideas, and collaborate for better healthcare outcomes in the region.
Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah laid the foundation and inaugurated several development projects worth ₹392 crores, including a CFSL Lab, an oceanarium, two water tanks, a grid station, a bone & joint hospital and a road improvement scheme in Jammu; also distributed Ayushman Gold Health Cards among beneficiaries. Arogya Manthan was organized by National Health Authority on the completion of one year of PM-JAY on 30 th September and 1 st october in 2019 . Hon’ble Prime minister, Shri Narendra Modi presided over the valedictory function. All the States and Union Territories participated in the Manthan. State Health Agencies showcased the best practices adopted in the respective States. State Health Agency, J&K also participated by showcasing the best practices adopted in the successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in J&K. J&K got the best learning and sharing space award during the event. Shri Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, J&K & Bhupinder Kumar, Chief Executive Officer State Health Agency, J & K received the award from Union Health & Family Welfare Minister, Dr Harshvardhan. During the Valedictory function chaired by Prime Minister, Chief Executive Officer National Health Agency, Dr. Indu Bhushan appreciated the efforts put in by the state in generation of golden cards. J&K covered 60 % of the beneficiary families, with regard to golden card generation, in less than first six months of its implementation.
Ayushman Bharat Diwas is celebrated every year on April 30 in India to achieve twin missions : to promote health and wellness to the poor and also to provide insurance benefits to them. The day aims to promote affordable medical facilities in remote areas of the country based on the Socio-Economic Caste Census database. State Health Agency, Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Ayushman Bharat Diwas on 23-Sep-2019 at Government Medical College, Jammu. Shri K. Vijay Kumar, Advisor to Hon’ble Governor was the Chief Guest.
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir felicitated the best performers ( PMAMs, Empanelled Health Care Providers )in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, celebrating one year of successful implementation of AB PM-JAY on 18-01-2020 . MOS for Health and Family Welfare Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The B2V-3 programme was the best platform for State Health Agency to create awareness about the AB PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY SEHAT Scheme to reach out to the beneficiaries at the grass root level. Creatives in the form of Pamphlets of AB PM-JAY/AB PM-JAY SEHAT Scheme were shared through email to all the Districts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir .The pamphlets were distributed with the booklets of B2V-3 Programme to the Officers visiting Panchayat Halqas to create awareness in the villages .The banners were displayed in the villages as well as in the Gram Sabha.
The unique initiative of State Health Agency 'Gaon Gaon Ayushman' aims to provide Ayushman Bharat Cards to Universal population in J&K is witnessing enthusiastic participation from people.The initiative was started in one Block each in District of Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Anantnag, Budgam, Bandipora, Baramulla and Ganderbal. To ensure all eligible beneficiaries are registered under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY- SEHAT Scheme, Camps are set-up for on spot registration of beneficiaries by CSC’s where VLE's are also being stationed for ensuring 100% registration and awareness activities at grass root level are done by PRI involving VLE's with door-to-door campaign by ASHA's. The drive is being conducted in coordination with District Development Council Chairpersons of respective areas.
